For microbiology, Levinson's Review of Medical Microbiology and Immunology is compact and exam-focused, which works well for second year where the subject is often undertaught.

MBBS Final Year Books — Medicine, Surgery & Clinical Subjects

Final year is clinical. Medicine, surgery, obs and gynae, pediatrics, psychiatry — all running simultaneously with ward rotations. The books you need at this stage are different from what worked in first and second year.

Davidson's Principles and Practice of Medicine remains the most used medicine text among Pakistani final year students — covers clinical management in the depth that long-answer papers and vivas require. Bailey & Love's Short Practice of Surgery is the equivalent for surgery. Ten Teachers for Obstetrics and Gynaecology covers obs/gynae well for both theory and clinical work. Nelson Essentials of Pediatrics is more manageable than the full Nelson for final year — most students here prefer it over the complete edition.
